Babies and Robots!

Another baby shower and this one is robot themed! Since I love robots, I was really excited about screen printing these robot onsies. The baby basket is complete with a robot gift tag, robot night light , and a cuddly striped baby blanket.

Congratulations Erika & Abe!

Handmade Stamp Gift Tags...

I made these hand carved stamps when putting together a nautical themed baby basket recently... so easy to make and they definitely added a unique touch.
The octopus was screen printed onto a piece of orange canvas and then fused to the cloth basket (I love steam-a-seam)... just a extra touch to make the finished product unique.

Congratulations Scott & Steph!

Knit Baby Blanket

I have been working on this baby blanket since shortly after I found out my best friend was pregnant. I picked gender neutral colors since she and her husband opted to have the sex be a surprise. This is a VERY easy, all knit pattern that I found on pintrest.
So cute :)

Paper Flowers

I took a go at making paper flowers
this past weekend and really liked
the result! I made this flower out
of paper, wire, and floral tape...
perfect in a small vase to
brighten up my desk.

Hand carved stamps...

Stamps are awesome... and hand carved stamps are super awesome. I love octopi, so I thought I would pay homage by carving this little guy. I have used him to make cards, wrapping paper, and gift tags. I was inspired by a book that I received as a gift called "Making an Impression" by Geninne Zlatkis. It's full of neat ideas and shows you just how easy it is to make your own stamp collection.

Summer of Jenn

I made this screen-printed flag to hang on our tent during "Summer of Jenn", a cross-country road trip Mike and I were taking over the summer. I also screen-printed some t-shirts for the trip too, just in case anyone forgets who's summer it is.

Transformation...

This used to be a dress... a very little dress. I loved the fabric so much, that I had to make something out of it that I could actually fit into.

Planter Magnets...

I received a button maker as a birthday gift this year. I love it and I am trying to find every and any way to utilize it. I recently started this windowsill herb garden and decided to mark the containers with these versatile little magnets.

Let's Garden!

Have spoiled veggies? Harvest the seeds and grow your own! I am making these cute packets to store the extra seeds once they are dry.

Booze Label Wallets...

I admit it, I save labels... wine bottle labels, beer bottle labels, snack package labels. I save pretty much any label that has neat graphics. Each of these wallets were made from labels that I pieced together and covered with vinyl.

Neat Gifts...

I recently bought some blank graph paper journals to map out knitting patterns and decided to spruce one up to give as a gift. I found this really awesome bicycle paper that I adhered to the cover, and made a screen using the same bicycle image (enlarged) and screen printed it on the paper... add a heart print, and viola! I also sewed together this neat striped paper, put in some eyelet holes and fastened it with some red twine and a heart tag I made with red velum.

It's a lovely day, to crochet...

I'm usually a knitter, but was recently inspired to crochet when a friend of mine wanted to learn how. I crocheted this octopus for Olive early this month when she went missing for a week or so, she has since returned and now has a new buddy to nap with. I also made this hat for my adorable niece too.

The saga of the green sweater continues...

My favorite green sweater somehow developed this significant hole during it's ventures. Rather than mending the hole with green thread, I decided to patch it using some swatches from one of the many pieces of unused yardage in my garage. I love this fabric... and I just may make a matching dress (too much?).

New Creative Corner...

I have been lacking creative inspiration for quite some time now (hence the lack of blog entries). I figured out that part of the problem may be that I have nowhere to gather my ideas.
Today, I covered this cork board with some really neat thrift store yardage, hung some egg shaped planters (purchased at IKEA) from the back of the frame, and viola! A place to put all of those inspiring 'things' that I find on a daily basis... magazine clippings, swatches of fabric, paper samples, yarn, whatever inspires.

New Dress...

Friday night... went shopping with a friend, went for a walk, watched the debate, and altered an old pattern to make this new little dress. This is absolutely my favorite fabric... I have curtains made out of it, pillow cases, a headband, and a wallet (a little excessive, I know). And yes, I should be packing, or cleaning, or doing something related to the upcoming move... but I think that creating this new dress to wear to Oktoberfest tomorrow is just what the doctor ordered. Just need to find some buttons, put in the zipper, and I will be ready to go.

It's just amazing what you find when you move...

It really is... I came across this relic while I was packing today. It was given to me as a birthday gift by a very dear friend many years ago. I had it hanging on my vanity mirror initially but when I had trouble finding anything to wear it with, it retreated to a dresser drawer where it has stayed for several years now. I was so delighted to discover it again this afternoon, as well as the memories that go along with it.

Okay, back to packing...

Sofa me, Sofa you.

Aileen and I were in the market today  for a petite sofa for her adorable new apartment. Although our focus was to find the loveseat of her dreams, I may have fallen in love with this little number for myself. It's called the "Westwood", and it handled quite well when I took it for a test drive.

A dress only a mother could love...

Don't ask what compelled me to buy this fabric... although the yardage is purely hideous, it was definitely love at first sight. My vision for this dress was immediate when I saw this print swimming in a sea of $1.69/yard flat fold.

Fall...

This afternoon was
dedicated to screen
printing these leaves on newsprint using a
paper stencil. These
will look neat on the
Fall '08 Trend board.
